Data Collection Manager

Team Leader Data Collection Startup - Kuala Lumpur

Team Leader/Data Collection is required to join a Data solutions startup company based in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. The successful team lead/data collection will be responsible for the delivery, quality, and performance of the data collection function. This role provides strategic and operational oversight of the data collection team, acts as a senior point of contact for the client, and reports directly to the Board of Directors on performance, risks, and opportunities. The role combines people leadership, client management, data quality ownership, and senior stakeholder communication, ensuring that contractual commitments, service levels, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience leading teams in a data, operations, or service delivery environment
• Experience reporting to senior leadership or Board-level stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including formal reporting
• Strong analytical skills and numerical literacy with the ability to interpret and explain performance data
• High attention to detail with a strong quality and governance mindset
• Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving and escalation management skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience managing client contracts or service-level agreements
• Background in data collection, data operations, or data quality management
• Experience working in regulated or data-sensitive environments
• Exposure to scaling teams or operations

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience required
• Formal qualifications in data, operations, management, or a related field are advantageous but not essential
