MR. ROBOT specialises in developing intelligent robotics and automation systems that enhance operational performance in retail, logistics, and commercial environments. By combining advanced AI, robotics engineering, and system integration, we deliver practical, scalable solutions that help businesses innovate operational workflows and prepare for tomorrow's automation demands.
Focused on real-world deployment rather than prototypes, Mr. Robot's offerings are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems-bringing robotics out of the lab and into productive use.
Driving Southeast Asia's automation revolution with AI robotics for partners, integrators, and industries ready to scale.
In this Data Engineer role, you will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality multimodal data used for training robotic perception, manipulation, and decision-making models, particularly in structured retail and real-world environments.
Working closely with the data collection and robotics engineering teams, you will help validate, label and maintain data assets that power AI model training for robotic autonomy, computer vision, and intelligent automation applications.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about data quality, AI model enablement, and contributing to the future of robotics innovation.
Job Responsibilities:
Data Review & Quality Assurance
- Review video recordings and multimodal data collected by the data collection team to ensure they meet defined quality and capture standards (e.g. correct camera angles, SKU labels visibility, motion completeness, dual-camera coverage).
- Verify collected data aligns with project specifications, including SKU selection criteria, shelf height parameters, environmental coverage, and annotation readiness.
- Identify, flag, and reject non-conforming or incomplete recordings, providing clear feedback and rejection reasons for re-collection.
Data Annotation & Labelling
- Label and annotate video data based on actions, object interactions, motion sequences, and environmental context for robotics model training.
- Maintain annotation quality standards and support continuous improvement of labeling guidelines and taxonomy.
Data Management & Library Organization
- Manage data assets using cloud-based file management systems and support data traceability for model training workflows.
- Assist in preparing curated datasets for model training, validation, and testing purposes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with field data collectors, and robotics engineers to support efficient data operations.
- Provide feedback to improve data collection protocols and annotation processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Robotics, or related disciplines preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review repetitive video footage with high accuracy.
- Experience in data annotation, quality control, content review, or dataset management is an advantage.
- Comfortable using cloud-based file management and data handling tools.
- Ability to follow structured processes while maintaining high quality standards.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with both field teams and technical engineering teams.
- Interest in AI or robotics is highly desirable.
You'll only be the right candidate if you are aligned to our values and culture:
- Innovation: Challenge the status quo, embrace change, and drive continuous improvement.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively and contribute to shared success.
- Excellence: Strive for high standards in both delivery and customer experience.
- Integrity: Act with honesty, transparency, and accountability.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
- Motivated to make a meaningful impact within a high-performing team
