What You'll Do

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture
  • Project Development: Build new data pipelines and solutions independently or in small teams, applying your expertise in Azure technologies to deliver high-quality, scalable data engineering projects.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support for existing live data projects, troubleshooting and resolving platform or data issues promptly to maintain service levels.
  • Platform Stability: Maintain and improve the Azure-based data platform to ensure reliability, performance, and continuous enhancement aligned with organizational needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, data scientists, analysts, and product management to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver effective solutions in an Agile environment.
  • Daily Operations: Engage in all Agile ceremonies, contribute to continuous improvement activities, and manage your workload with minimal supervision while collaborating across global time zones.
  • Success Metrics: Success will be measured by your ability to independently deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions, maintain platform stability, and effectively support business needs with minimal escalations.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel is expected for this remote role.

What You'll Bring

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of experience developing backend, data-intensive systems with at least 2 years hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
  • Proven ability to independently deliver end-to-end data engineering projects including development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into technical solutions, especially for stakeholders with low data maturity.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders across multiple time zones.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data modeling, database development tools, and reporting tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and API development.
  • Prior experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with global, distributed teams.
  • Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
