Data Migration Expert

Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Migration Expert to support the migration of business data from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The role will coordinate data cleansing, mapping, validation and defect resolution while ensuring that assigned data objects are delivered according to the defined migration methodology and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Based on the defined methodology, support the local team in the coordination of data cleansing.
• Onboard the local team for the migration of data under their responsibility, including leading onboarding workshops.
• Support the team in defining the migration approach, specific requirements and data mapping.
• Validate data migration deliverables.
• Ensure all tasks related to assigned data objects are delivered within the defined timeline.
• Proactively anticipate migration risks and coordinate with adjacent objects and teams.
• Act as the first line of support for migration defects and data issues.
• Support application owners by providing inputs on data propagation and downstream impacts.
• Lead post-migration REX or lessons-learned activities for the assigned scope and entity.
• Coordinate with Data and Cutover teams, testing teams, application owners, business process owners and IT Operations and Finance stakeholders.
• Support the on-time delivery of migration milestones covering mock migration, UAT and production.
• Drive the implementation of data-cleansing action plans for each migration milestone.
• Support the reduction of defects between cutovers and improve defect-resolution lead time.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum two years of relevant data migration or master data management experience.
• Hands-on experience in data migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA is required.
• Functional and technical knowledge of relevant business and data objects.
• Solid understanding of master data management, data quality and data flows.
• Understanding of ETL, data cleansing, reconciliation and validation processes.
• Ability to engage local teams, understand their context and propose an appropriate migration approach in line with the defined methodology.
• Ability to coordinate technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to manage cross-object dependencies within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
• End-to-end understanding of how data quality affects migration activities and business processes.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a pragmatic delivery mindset.
