Data Quality & Governance Analyst
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven professional to join our organisation as a Data Quality & Governance Analyst.
This role is responsible for driving the identification, analysis, and resolution of data quality issues across the Group, while strengthening data governance practices throughout the data lifecycle. The incumbent will work closely with business, technology, and data stewardship teams to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose, supporting effective decision-making and regulatory compliance.
The role requires a strong combination of analytical capability, governance discipline, and stakeholder engagement to deliver sustainable improvements in data quality management.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality Issue Management & Resolution
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data quality issues and underlying pain points
- Lead root cause analysis, remediation planning, and issue resolution across the full lifecycle
- Track progress, enforce SLAs, and ensure timely escalation and closure of issues
- Support data cleansing activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Governance & Process Improvement
- Embed data governance practices across data lifecycle processes
- Identify gaps and recommend enhancements to improve data quality and operational efficiency
- Conduct governance reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to data governance standards
Project Management & Reporting
- Provide structured oversight of data quality initiatives, ensuring alignment on scope, priorities, and timelines
- Prepare and deliver management reporting on data quality performance, issue trends, and remediation status
- Highlight key risks and ensure escalation through appropriate governance forums
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Work closely with business units, IT teams, and data stewards to drive issue resolution and governance adoption
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to promote best practices in data quality management
- Act as a key point of coordination across cross-functional teams
Continuous Improvement & Culture Building
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in data management
- Promote awareness and adoption of data quality and governance best practices
- Drive sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence of data issues
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with minimum 5 years of experience in data governance or data quality management
- Experience in banking or financial services is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data lifecycle, and data quality principles
- Proven experience in complex issue resolution and project management, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, BI platforms, and data quality monitoring tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and provide actionable insights
- Experience in driving end-to-end issue management and governance processes
