We are looking for a Data Science Intern to be part of our Data Science team. This role will support the team in conducting data discovery, applying advanced techniques in feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and developing machine learning models. The intern will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to translate data into actionable insights that support business decisionmaking.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for applying data analysis tools and techniques to provide insights and actionable recommendations to the business. This includes:
- Conducting data discovery, data cleaning, and exploratory data analysis (EDA) on structured and unstructured datasets
- Applying advanced statistical methods and data mining techniques to uncover hidden patterns and insights from large datasets
- Supporting the development, enhancement, testing, and validation of machine learning models
- Performing statistical and mathematical analyses to support business decisions across multiple functions
- Assisting in feature engineering, model performance evaluation, and hyperparameter tuning
- Developing data visualizations and dashboards (when required) to automate business insights and monitor model performance
- Documenting analysis, methodologies, and model assumptions following scientific best practices

QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills
- Foundational understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g. regression, classification, clustering)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing
- Ability to perform data manipulation and analysis using Python
- Familiarity with SQL querying for data extraction and transformation
- Basic understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Exposure to data visualization tools/libraries (e.g. matplotlib, seaborn, Power BI, Tableau basic exposure acceptable)

- Ability to translate analytical findings into clear, businessfriendly insights
- Good documentation and communication skills

WORK EXPERIENCES
Internship, academic projects, competitions, or voluntary experience in data science/analytics will be considered an advantage.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree (or finalyear student) in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline
- Knowledge of fundamentals in data structures, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analysis
- Participation in Kaggle competitions, Data Science hackathons, or university data projects is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Python and SQL query writing
The Data Science Intern will report to the Data Science Department and work under the guidance of senior Data Scientists and Data Engineers.

- Assist the Data Science Department in the development, enhancement, and monitoring of machine learning models, data analyses, and automated insights.
