Job Description

Job Title:Data Warehouse Architect

Location:Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Duration:6 Months (Extendable)

Job Description

We are seeking an experiencedData Warehouse Architectto design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in architecting data platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and alignment with enterprise data governance standards.

Required Skills

Data Architecture & Modelling

  • Enterprise data warehouse architecture (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid)
  • Dimensional modelling (star & snowflake schemas)
  • Fact/dimension design, slowly changing dimensions (SCD Types 13)
  • Understanding of data lake patterns

Database & Performance

  • Advanced SQL (Oracle & MSSQL)
  • Query optimisation, indexing strategies, partitioning
  • Handling large data volumes and complex joins
  • Capacity planning and performance benchmarking

ETL / ELT Engineering

  • Design and implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience with tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory
  • Change data capture (CDC) strategies
  • Error handling and logging

Data Governance & Security

  • Data quality frameworks (completeness, accuracy, timeliness)
  • Row-level and column-level security
  • Data lineage and metadata management
  • Familiarity with IAM concepts and access controls (a plus)

Leadership & Delivery

  • Technical leadership and mentoring
  • Code reviews and design authority
  • Stakeholder communication and design walkthroughs
  • Documentation standards

Required Experience

  • 812 years of experience in data engineering / data warehouse roles
  • Minimum 3 years designing enterprise-scale data warehouses
  • Proven experience delivering data warehouse projects end-to-end
  • Experience supporting analytics or regulatory reporting environments
