Job Description

Purpose Statement: The Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems and related applications. The individual will also define and administer effective database standards, access methods, and security procedures. The Database Administrator provides technical consulting to applications development staff on the use of database solutions in solving business needs. Additionally, this individual acts as the subject matter expert and technical liaison with respect to business intelligence and enterprise reporting for various business units.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Manages user security and access to databases to ensure highly controlled access environment. Applies database server related patches and maintains database security standards.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade MSSQL and Oracle environments. Involved in the planning, designing, implementing, and testing of newly and modified database configurations.
  • Work with developer teams to design and build application databases. Maintain database system uptime and ensure compliance to Plexus's Application SLA. Ensure all database components are working as expected. Investigates and resolves any issues associated with database environments. Monitor databases for efficiency and ensure that databases are running optimally. Contribute to database performance tuning efforts. Plan, prepare, and test database backup and recovery procedures. Contribute to the on-going evaluation, improvement, and automation of DBA procedures
  • Define and implement consistent standards across all Plexus databases. Adhere to Plexus Standards, Code of Conduct, and Policies. Verify all databases conform to established backup policies.
  • Perform database deployments to support application updates and implementations.
  • All GT team members are responsible for upholding the organization's cybersecurity posture by adhering to security policies and procedures, actively participating in training, protecting data and systems, actively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential security incidents.

Education/Experience Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree. Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.
