- Oversee daily business operations to ensure smooth, efficient and timely execution of activities.
- Establish and maintain operational processes, policies and procedures to support business objectives.
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, service levels and cost efficiency.
- Ensure operational activities comply with company policies, safety requirements and relevant regulations.
- Act as the key point of escalation for operational issues and drive timely resolution.
- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and stock management.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and maintain appropriate stock availability to support business requirements.
- Monitor stock movements, inventory ageing, slow-moving items and discrepancies.
- Develop initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity and space utilisation.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Sales teams to optimise stock levels and product availability.
- Manage the end-to-end order fulfilment and delivery process to ensure customers receive products accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure efficient distribution and delivery.
- Monitor delivery performance, transportation costs and service levels.
- Resolve delivery, order and fulfilment issues promptly.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Partner closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless order processing and customer fulfilment.
- Support the commercial team with product availability, order status, delivery planning and operational matters.
- Ensure customer enquiries and operational issues are addressed effectively and within agreed service standards.
- Monitor customer service performance and identify recurring issues requiring process improvements.
- Support sales initiatives and business growth by ensuring operational capacity is aligned with demand.
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and service quality.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse, inventory, logistics and administrative operations.
- Establish operational KPIs and monitor performance against agreed targets.
- Analyse operational data to identify root causes, trends and improvement opportunities.
- Implement standardised processes and best practices to improve consistency and scalability.
- Lead, manage and develop the operations team to achieve business and operational objectives.
- Establish clear responsibilities, KPIs and performance expectations for team members.
- Coach and mentor employees to strengthen operational capabilities and productivity.
- Manage workforce planning, scheduling and resource allocation based on business requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising service quality.
- Track key operational metrics including order fulfilment, inventory accuracy, delivery performance, productivity and customer service.
- Prepare regular operational reports and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Support budgeting and operational planning activities.
- Ensure resources are utilised effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service and other departments to align operational priorities.
- Coordinate with regional or global stakeholders where required to implement operational initiatives and standards.
- Support new product introductions, business projects and operational changes.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments to minimise operational disruptions.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, warehouse or distribution management.
- Proven experience managing day-to-day operations within a distribution, industrial, automotive, tools, equipment or B2B environment.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity, with responsibility for leading operational teams.
- Experience managing warehouse, inventory, logistics and order fulfilment activities is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting a sales-driven or customer-focused business environment would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, logistics and distribution operations.
- Good understanding of order-to-delivery processes and operational workflow.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.
- Experience with ERP, inventory management, warehouse management or other operational systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good understanding of operational KPIs, cost control and performance management.
- Experience in process improvement, lean principles or operational excellence would be an advantage.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
