Job Description

A leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Delivery Project Manager specialising in telecom networks, with expertise in DWDM and IP technologies. This role offers you the opportunity to be at the heart of service delivery, ensuring seamless end-to-end project management across multiple network technologies. You will play a pivotal part in connecting teams, suppliers, and customers, guaranteeing that services are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

What you'll do:

As a Delivery Project Manager Telecom Networks based in Kuala Lumpur, you will orchestrate the entire lifecycle of telecom network service delivery projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve coordinating diverse teams-internal staff, field engineers, suppliers-and acting as the trusted liaison for customers. You will ensure that every aspect of project planning is executed smoothly: tracking progress against timelines; reporting outcomes; resolving technical queries; overseeing installations; leading troubleshooting sessions; managing documentation; and handling third-party integrations. Success in this role requires you to foster collaborative relationships across departments while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. You will also contribute actively to process improvement initiatives within Service Delivery and work alongside Product Management during new product launches. By supporting training programmes for delivery coordinators and creating comprehensive guidelines for best practices, you help build a culture of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.

  • Manage end-to-end delivery projects from order handover through service activation and early-life support, ensuring each milestone is met with precision.
  • Act as the single point of contact for customers, internal teams, suppliers, and field engineers, fostering dependable relationships built on trust and clear communication.
  • Plan, track, and report project progress regularly to ensure timely delivery of services while maintaining accuracy in all aspects of project execution.
  • Support teams by addressing technical queries related to DWDM, IP, Ethernet, and network services, providing guidance based on your operational experience.
  • Coordinate field engineers for installation, testing, and service activation activities, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve issues by engaging relevant stakeholders promptly to maintain high-quality service standards.
  • Provide regular updates and constructive feedback to customers throughout the project lifecycle, managing escalations proactively to highlight risks affecting readiness dates.
  • Participate in customer meetings to present project plans and progress clearly while supporting Sales teams during discussions on delivery-related topics.
  • Ensure accurate registration of all service components in delivery systems by managing documentation, test results, and service handover materials meticulously.
  • Oversee third-party elements such as local tails, cross-connects, and CPE with suppliers to guarantee seamless integration into overall service delivery.

What you bring:

To excel as a Delivery Project Manager Telecom Networks in Kuala Lumpur, you bring proven experience from various telecom roles-whether as a Field Engineer or Project Manager-with hands-on exposure to DWDM/IP technologies. Your operational expertise allows you not only to troubleshoot technical issues but also guide others through complex installations or activations. You possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to communicate effectively with both customers and colleagues; your stakeholder management abilities ensure everyone remains informed throughout each phase of the project. Your meticulous approach supports compliance requirements when managing documentation or integrating third-party elements into service delivery. Beyond technical proficiency, your commitment to collaborative process improvement makes you an asset within any team environment. By participating in training initiatives or developing guidelines for others, you demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for nurturing collective growth-a quality highly valued by organisations seeking dependable professionals who thrive on shared success.

  • Minimum three years experience in telecom roles such as Field Engineer, Delivery/Implementation Engineer, Project Manager or Network Support Engineer is essential for success in this position.
  • Hands-on or operational experience with DWDM networks-including fundamentals like light levels, loop tests, Tx/Rx swaps-and familiarity with equipment vendors such as Ciena, Nokia or Infinera is required.
  • Operational understanding of IP networking concepts relevant to telecom service delivery ensures you can address technical challenges effectively.
  • Experience coordinating internal teams as well as external suppliers and field engineers demonstrates your ability to foster co-operative relationships across complex projects.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills combined with stakeholder management abilities allow you to provide clear updates and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts collaboratively with relevant stakeholders ensures prompt issue resolution without compromising quality or timelines.
  • Meticulous approach to documentation management-including test results and service handover materials-supports compliance requirements within delivery systems.
  • Experience overseeing third-party elements such as local tails or cross-connects with suppliers adds value by ensuring seamless integration into overall service provision.
  • Proven commitment to process improvement initiatives within Service Delivery highlights your willingness to share knowledge and contribute positively to communal goals.
  • Participation in training initiatives or guideline creation for delivery coordinators demonstrates your enthusiasm for nurturing team growth.
