Job Description

The Deputy Head of Agency plays a pivotal leadership role in expanding and elevating Manulife Investment Management's agency distribution channel. This position supports the Head of Agency in shaping strategy, driving sales performance, strengthening advisor productivity, and ensuring the delivery of highquality wealth and investment solutions across the market.

Position Responsibilities:

1.Strategic & Channel Leadership

  • Support the Head of Agency in designing and executing strategies that drive growth in the agency distribution channel for wealth and investment products.

  • Partner closely with regional and local leadership to align agency strategies with Manulife's broader WAM objectives.

  • Lead transformation initiatives to modernize agency engagement, digital enablement, and advisor tools.

2. Business Performance & Sales Management

  • Oversee agency sales performance, ensuring achievement of AUM growth, revenue targets, and productivity KPIs.

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitive movement to refine channel strategies.

  • Implement structured performance management frameworks for agency leaders and advisors.

3. Agency Capability Development

  • Drive capability building programs to enhance advisor professionalism, investment knowledge, and advisory quality.

  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to strengthen certification, licensing, and continuous education pathways.

  • Promote a performancedriven culture with clear development opportunities for agency leaders.

4. Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships with internal business units to ensure seamless delivery of clientcentric solutions.

  • Engage regularly with agency leaders to understand challenges, opportunities, and field feedback.

  • Represent the Agency function in cross-functional committees, leadership discussions, and external engagements when required.

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure agency practices adhere to regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry best practices.

  • Strengthen risk management processes related to advisory conduct, product suitability, and sales practices.

  • Drive operational excellence across all agency activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in agency distribution, wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services leadership.

  • Strong understanding of retail wealth products, unit trust funds, investment-linked solutions, and advisor distribution models.

  • Proven leadership experience managing large sales teams or distribution networks.
