Desktop Support Technician - BitLocker & SID Remediation (15 Positions)

We are hiring 15 Desktop Support Technicians for a short-term remediation project on Windows PCs in Kuala Lumpur. On each machine you will safely decrypt BitLocker, change the machine SID from WinPE, validate the result and re-enable encryption, following a fixed runbook.

Key responsibilities (per PC):

• Confirm the BitLocker recovery key is backed up (AD, Entra ID or MBAM) and record the current machine SID
• Log in as admin and decrypt the drive; confirm it shows Fully Decrypted with manage-bde -status
• Boot from WinPE (USB or PXE) and identify the correct Windows drive letter
• Run SIDCHG against the offline Windows installation using the approved command, then reboot
• Validate the new SID and confirm the domain trust still works
• Check Windows Recovery Environment (reagentc /info) and enable it if it is off
• Re-enable the BitLocker service, start encryption and confirm the new recovery key is backed up
• Log every PC in the project tracker and escalate failures instead of improvising

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or related, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years in desktop support, field engineering or end-user computing in a corporate environment
• Hands-on Windows 10/11: admin accounts, services, command prompt and basic PowerShell
• BitLocker experience: status, decrypt/suspend, recovery keys (manage-bde)
• Booting PCs from WinPE or USB media and working from the WinPE command line
• Understanding of Active Directory domain join and basic domain trust troubleshooting
• Able to follow a written runbook exactly and record results accurately; good English

Nice to have: PC refresh or imaging projects (SCCM/MECM, Intune, MDT), SIDCHG or Sysprep, reagentc, MBAM, CompTIA A+, MD-102, ITIL Foundation, Bahasa Malaysia, own transport.

Contract, project-based, full time. On-site in Kuala Lumpur (candidates anywhere in Malaysia welcome if able to work in KL). Some evening or weekend shifts may be needed.

Salary: MYR 5,000 - 7,500 per month, depending on seniority.
