DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps Engineer at the Client, you will design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment automation across multiple environments. You will work closely with software engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across the entire delivery lifecycle.

The role involves managing deployments primarily on Alibaba Cloud and AWS, supporting Kubernetes-based microservices, and continuously evolving infrastructure automation using Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (with future adoption of ArgoCD for GitOps workflows).
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across Alibaba Cloud and AWS, focusing on scalability, cost efficiency, and high availability.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
• Manage and tune system observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stacks.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement infrastructure as code using Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
• Maintain and automate MongoDB deployments, backups, and performance monitoring.
• Support the rollout of Istio service mesh for microservices observability and traffic management.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python or Shell scripting.
• Work closely with the SecOps team to ensure security best practices are embedded within CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support incident management and post-mortem analysis.
• Interact with customers as required, demonstrating strong communication skills, professionalism, and presentability.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on Alibaba Cloud and/or AWS.
• Strong expertise in Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes administration.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and system security.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Proven experience managing MongoDB clusters in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, or GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to engage directly with customers — confident, articulate, and professionally presentable.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Ansible for configuration management.
• Exposure to Istio or other service mesh technologies.
• Experience with ArgoCD or GitOps-based deployment workflows.
• Understanding of cloud security, compliance, and SecOps principles.
• Prior experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
