The Company

Our client is a diversified real estate and development group in Myanmar with a growing portfolio of large-scale mixed-use, commercial, residential, hospitality, and infrastructure projects. The organization is entering an important phase of expansion and project execution, requiring stronger procurement leadership, strategic vendor management, and centralized commercial controls to support ongoing and future developments.

The Position

The Procurement Director will lead the overall procurement and sourcing function across the group's real estate and development operations, overseeing strategic purchasing, contract negotiations, supplier management, procurement governance, and cost optimization initiatives. The role will be responsible for establishing robust procurement frameworks, strengthening supplier and contractor relationships, driving commercial efficiencies, and ensuring procurement activities align with project timelines, quality expectations, and budget requirements.

Working closely with senior leadership, project directors, QS, engineering, construction, and finance teams, the successful candidate will oversee procurement planning for major mixed-use developments that include high-rise residential projects, villas, hospitality developments, office towers, retail podiums, and supporting infrastructure works. The position will also play a critical role in managing procurement risks, evaluating international and regional suppliers, supporting tendering and bid evaluation processes, and improving overall procurement transparency and operational efficiency across the organization.

This role requires strong leadership capability to manage and develop procurement teams while implementing structured procurement systems, policies, and reporting frameworks suitable for a growing development platform with multiple concurrent projects.

The Person

The successful candidate is likely to possess at least 15–20 years of procurement, commercial, sourcing, or supply chain leadership experience within large-scale real estate development, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or mixed-use development environments. Exposure to developer-side procurement operations, large project procurement planning, contractor management, and international sourcing environments will be highly regarded.

Candidates should demonstrate strong commercial acumen, contract negotiation capability, and experience managing procurement operations across complex multi-project environments. Prior exposure to large-scale mixed-use developments, high-rise projects, hospitality developments, or integrated township projects will be viewed favorably. Experience working within regional or multinational business environments, managing cross-functional stakeholders, and driving procurement transformation initiatives would also be advantageous.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, organizational, and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to operate effectively in a fast-evolving and entrepreneurial business environment.
