Role Description The Director of Revenue is a full-time, on-site role based in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, responsible for driving total revenue performance across rooms, meetings, events, and ancillary services. The role oversees revenue management strategies, including pricing, inventory control, distribution channels, and demand forecasting to optimize RevPAR and overall profitability. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing market trends and competitor performance, preparing revenue reports, leading rate strategy meetings, and collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to align commercial plans. The Director of Revenue will manage and refine revenue recognition processes, ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting, and support the development of packages and promotions that reflect the hotel's wellness and sustainability positioning. The role also involves coaching team members on revenue best practices, monitoring system accuracy, and maintaining strong relationships with corporate stakeholders and key partners.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, build forecasts, and translate insights into actionable revenue strategies.
  • Proficiency in revenue recognition and revenue management practices, including pricing, inventory control, and distribution channel optimization.
  • Solid foundation in finance and accounting to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Experience in sales or commercial roles within hospitality, with the ability to collaborate on pricing, packages, and demand-generation initiatives.
  • Previous leadership experience in hotel revenue management or a similar role, preferably in upscale or lifestyle properties.
  • Familiarity with revenue management systems, PMS, CRS, and channel management tools; strong Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainable tourism principles and willingness to support the hotel's sustainability-oriented positioning.
