Director/Senior Manager- Operations Risk (KL-based)

Our client, a premier insurer is looking to appoint a Director / Senior Manager, Operations Risk in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Head of Operations, you will be responsible for driving operational risk governance and assurance in the region. This includes coordinating and providing oversight on issues and incidents, ensuring audit readiness and timely closure of audit actions. You will act as the key interface with Risk and Internal Audit to enhance control effectiveness and transparency across business entities, supported by consolidated reporting through PRISM/eGRC platforms. The role also involves preparing impactful governance reports and engaging senior management stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong academic qualifications with at least 10 years of experience in operational risk, internal controls, operational resilience or first-line assurance, ideally within the insurance industry.
• Demonstrated experience in policy and standards development, control framework design and assurance methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in issue and incident governance, root cause analysis (RCA), KRI frameworks, dashboards, remediation tracking and governance reporting.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to insurance operations (e.g. MAS Operational Risk Guidelines, OJK, BNM and broader operational risk principles).
