Job Description

As a Draft Technician, you will produce detailed floor plans, 3D models, and architectural packages using industry-standard drafting tools. This role focuses on accuracy, quality assurance, and collaboration across projects-supporting residential, commercial, and insurance restoration clients in a fast-paced but well-structured environment.

The Qualifications We Seek

Education

  • Obtained or currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of CAD drafting experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of BIM modeling experience

Skills

  • CAD Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Verisk Xactimate
  • Drafting and Preparation: Ability to develop and prepare detailed floor plan drawings with precision
  • Quality Assurance: Strong skills in conducting accuracy checks and ensuring adherence to standards
  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of drafting principles and practices gained through engineering experience
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for accuracy and high-quality output
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Problem-Solving: Skill in identifying and resolving issues related to drafting and software
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize drafting tasks efficiently
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work with different CAD software and handle varied project requirements
  • Reliable Commute: Must be able to go to the office during standard business hours

Your Daily Tasks

  • Create iGUIDE floor plans using Planitar's proprietary software, Draft, for residential, commercial, and insurance restoration clients
  • Develop ESX floor plan sketches using Verisk's Xactimate software for insurance restoration claims clients
  • Prepare DWG floor plans using Autodesk's Revit for architecture, construction, and engineering clients
  • Build RVT models using Autodesk's Revit for architecture, construction, and engineering clients
  • Design 3D isometric models using Autodesk's Revit for interior design and virtual staging clients, selecting furnishings, materials, and artwork
  • Produce architectural floor plan packages using Autodesk's Revit for architecture, construction, and engineering clients
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure drafting work meets accuracy, company standards, and client requirements
  • Identify, address, and report production issues to the iGUIDE Drafting Shift Leader
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Support additional tasks beyond drafting, such as AI annotations, marketing research, information gathering, and case studies
  • Achieve and maintain KPI targets by implementing effective strategies and managing daily operations
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility in supporting various tasks as required by the organization
