We're opening an immediate spot for a Interior Design student for the role Interior DesignDrafter Intern to join the Kopi Kenangan design team in Malaysia. This is your chance to sharpen your technical skills that is aligned to your study. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our Senior Designer to bridge the gap between 3D concepts and construction-ready AutoCAD sets. Commitment: 3 months contract (preferably can start by 1 April 2026)
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Current University students (Architecture/Interior Design/Civil Engineering) or Fresh Graduates looking for hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is non-negotiable. You must also be comfortable navigating and extracting information from SketchUp files.
- A solid understanding of how to translate design intent into technical components (Layouts, MEP, Joinery, carpentry, etc.).
- Ability to follow strict templates and ensure technical accuracythe small details make the big picture work!
- Ready to start immediately and commit to 3 months of contract
Job Role:
- As a Drafter Intern, you will be the bridge between design and construction. Working directly under the guidance of our Senior Designer, you will help us cross the finish line on several exciting projects by producing comprehensive technical documentation.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare full, construction-ready sets of technical drawings, including electrical plans, floor layouts, wall/partition details, and bespoke furniture specifications.
- 3D to 2D Translation: Accurately translate 3D SketchUp models into precise 2D AutoCAD documentation.
- Design Alignment: Ensure every line drawn aligns perfectly with the creative vision provided by the Senior Designer.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of consistency and accuracy by utilizing our internal CAD templates and filing systems.
