Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and legal requirements (e.g., DOE Malaysia, Environmental Quality Act).
- Monitor and manage environmental aspects and impacts (air emissions, wastewater, scheduled waste, noise, etc.).
- Oversee proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of scheduled waste in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Liaise with contractors and licensed waste collectors for waste disposal and documentation.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports to authorities (e.g., DOE reporting, eSWIS).
- Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify gaps and ensure compliance.
- Monitor effluent discharge, air pollution control systems, and ensure parameters meet permissible limits.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring activities (e.g., water sampling, stack emission testing).
- Develop and promote sustainability initiatives (waste reduction, recycling programs, energy saving, water conservation).
- Provide environmental awareness training to employees and contractors.
- Investigate environmental incidents, non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain all environmental records, permits, licenses, and documentation.
- Support internal and external environmental audits and regulatory inspections.
- Conduct training, awareness programs, and emergency drills.
- Implement safety policies and conduct risk assessments.
- Ensure PPE usage and investigate incidents.
- Perform safety audits and inspections.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Environmental / Safety
• 2–5 years EHS experience (manufacturing preferred)
• NEBOSH/IOSH certification (preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skill
