Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental, occupational health & safety management programs and policies.
  • To ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local occupational environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain and support the Environmental Management System as to ISO14001 standard.
  • Maintain occupational safety and health management system as to legal requirement and MS1722/ ISO45001 standard.
  • Inter department interaction and arrangement of training on emergency response and hazardous chemical and material handling.
  • Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Investigation and assessment on incidents and accidents to prevent possibilities of property damage, injuries to employees or occupational health hazard.
  • Recommend and introduce corrective action and preventive action to where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
  • Organize or support the Internal/External Audit on EHS and report to Corporate EHS. Attend to all audits concerning EHS. Example: ISO audit, government audit, customer audits, insurance audit etc.
  • To manage EHS officers or technicians, the EHS groups of personnel to maintain the EHS Management System.
  • Performing any other duties as directed by the immediate superior from time to time.
  • Derive Continual Improvement. Practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of tasks. Compliance to ISO Requirements, company rules & regulations, applicable codes etc.
  • Lead the EHS team to ensure the full compliance to all the relevant Law, Rules, Guideline, Standards, Regulation or Act applicable to the Company.

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Quality Management or equivalent competencies e.g. IRCA certified Environmental Lead Auditor.
  • Preferable with registered Green Book Holder from the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) Malaysia. Any other registered competency will be an added advantage (example registered Radiation Protection Officer under Atomic Agency Licensing Board (AELB) Malaysia, Department of Environment competent person & etc.).
  • Preferably 8 years in electronics manufacturing environment in the EHS field. Well verse with Malaysian legislation especially related to safety & health, environmental and radiation. Preferably having experience in the ISO 14001 Management System.

Skills

  • Leadership capabilities to manage and supervise the EHS team.
  • Good knowledge of related legislation, planning, communication and organization skills.
  • Good command of English and ready to communicate with Corporate EHS.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
