Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs specifically designed for the technical operations of the department. This includes areas such as occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, and the management of high-risk activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on all local and international EHS laws and standards, including those from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the National Environment Agency (NEA). Ensure that project policies and procedures align with these regulations.
  • System Development and Implementation: Review and revise relevant EHS processes based on ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 standards and industrial best practices. Introduce these revisions on a project basis to foster continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough project risk assessments and document them in a project risk register to identify potential risks and enhance project quality. Develop and implement control measures to minimize or eliminate these risks.
  • Audit and Inspection Leadership: Plan and lead internal EHS audits, inspections, and regulatory visits for the project. Analyse findings and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are completed.
  • Training and Communication: Develop and deliver specialized EHS training for employees, contractors, and management. Serve as a technical subject matter expert and effectively communicate EHS expectations and performance.

Required Experience, Qualifications And Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, construction, or oil and gas industries is required.
  • Candidates must possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as strong technical writing abilities to develop EHS processes.

Technical Skills ( Good To Have )

  • Certification as an EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) professional, such as Green Book, IOSH, NEBOSH, CSP, or Fire Safety, is an advantage.
  • Certification as an ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor is also a plus.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Ability to communicate in Mandarin is advantageous for liaising with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
