Job Description

Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes. The role also supports budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit coordination. In addition, it involves improving financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to deliver accurate financial insights to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Prepared and maintained accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

• Managed month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Ensured full compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting standards.

• Coordinated with internal and external auditors during financial audits and supported audit requirements.

2. Accounting Operations and Transaction Management

• Oversaw full-cycle accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

• Ensured accurate recording, classification, and maintenance of all financial transactions and supporting documentation.

• Assisted in payroll processing and related accounting activities.

3. Financial Analysis and Business Partnership

• Analysed financial data and trends to provide actionable insights for management decision-making.

• Supported the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.

• Acted as a financial partner to local management by providing guidance and performance insights.

4. Treasury and Cash Flow Management

• Monitored cash flow and performed regular bank reconciliations to ensure liquidity for operational needs.

• Managed receivables, including follow-ups on overdue accounts and coordination of collections efforts.

5. Process Improvement and Systems Optimization

• Identified and implemented process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.

• Recommended and supported the implementation of financial systems and tools to streamline accounting operations.

6. General and Administrative Support

• Supported ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, and project-based tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a full-cycle accounting role

• Professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/ICAEW) is an advantage

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices

• Good understanding of MFRS/IFRS and regulatory compliance in Malaysia

• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines

• Good communication skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and management in a dynamic environment
