AIXTRON's new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia

We are building a newgreenfield manufacturing and engineering hubinBatu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide astate-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & testingof our high-end systems and will contribute toengineering for the next generation of products. Operations are planned to start in2027with a rapid ramp-up. About The Role

When you step into the role of Electrical Development Engineer, you will be the driving force behind the electrical system architecture and powerdistribution strategy for nextgeneration MOCVD platforms. This is a handson, highimpact position where you shape the backbone of complex, precisionengineered systems. You'll champion robust, compliant, and manufacturingready designs while working shouldertoshoulder with worldclass teams in mechanical design, process engineering, automation, and advanced manufacturing to bring breakthrough technology to life.

Responsibilities

Design andoptimizemain and low-voltage power distribution systems with focus on reliability, maintainability, and compliance
Define scalable PLC and control architectures ensuring robustness and diagnosability
Select and integrate sensors and actuators for complex and harsh operating conditions
Lead system-level architecture definition, requirements engineering, and interface management
Conduct structured problem solving (RCA, 8D) and risk assessments (FMEA) to prevent integration and field issues
Drive design for manufacturing and cost-balanced engineering decisions
Ensure compliance with ISO, CE, SEMI, and safety standards
Structure andmaintainhigh-quality electrical documentation in E-Plan and manage changes in PLM/ERP systems

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
2–10 years of professional experience in electrical development within complex systems
Strongexpertisein power distribution, control architecture, and motion systems
Experience with requirements management, system architecture, and cross-functional integration
Proficiencyin E-Plan and ERP systems such as SAP
Strong analytical mindset with experience in data-driven engineering decisions
High ownership, technical leadership capability, and intercultural collaboration skills
Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
