The company is a local Malaysian precision machine provider with business across Asia and Americas. The company are now looking for an electrical engineer and this role will support Thailand and South America Markets.
Role Overview
This role is for an Electrical Engineer specializing in PLC Programming and Industrial Automation, requiring 80% travel across APAC markets including China, Thailand, and Mexico. The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end electrical control design, programming, commissioning, and on-site technical support for industrial automation projects. This position demands strong technical skills in robotics, PLC systems, and electrical design combined with the ability to work independently across multiple client sites.
Key Responsibilities
3+ years relevant work experience in electrical engineering and PLC programming
Bachelor's degree or above in Mechatronics or related fields
Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English
Able to travel 80% across APAC (China, Thailand, Mexico)
Proficient in robot configuration, programming, and debugging (FANUC and ABB)
Proficient in at least one PLC brand (Mitsubishi, Omron, Panasonic, Siemens, Keyence, or Beckhoff)
Electrical schematic design using AutoCAD or EPLAN
Experience with HMI/touchscreen programming (Weinview, Mitsubishi, MCGS, or XINJE)
Nice to have
Proficient in multiple PLC brands (small-to-medium and large systems)
Experience with simulation software for robot programming
Advanced electrical commissioning experience
Experience in industrial automation project management
Familiarity with safety circuit design standards
Previous experience working across multiple APAC markets

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for project electrical control layout, electrical design, safety circuit design, component selection, commissioning, and related work
- Responsible for creating, organizing, archiving project documentation, and generating user manuals and instruction guides
- Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, user training, and equipment acceptance at customer sites
- Responsible for component selection and design for electrical components such as control cards, robots, PLCs, and HMIs
- Perform programming, coding, and debugging for robots, PLCs, and HMIs
- Conduct electrical schematic design using AutoCAD or EPLAN
- Execute electrical commissioning and system integration
- Utilize simulation software and apply simulation data for on-site robot debugging and teaching
