Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1) Design and Development:
- Design, develop, and implement medium and high voltage electrical systems for various applications, such as power grids or power plants.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Conduct simulations in engineering software and analysis to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Perform calculations such as CT/VT calculation, AC and DC loading calculation.
- Prepare cable list and core termination diagram.
- Select and specify appropriate high voltage components, including cables, connectors, and circuit breakers.
2) Testing and Validation:
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of high voltage systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and performance requirements.
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in high voltage systems.
3) Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations when working with high voltage equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and regulations.
4) Project Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of high voltage electrical principles, circuit theory, and power systems.
- Experience with design and analysis tools, such as CAD software and ETAP simulation software.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, and UL.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in specific applications, such as power grids, power plants or industrial automation.
- Knowledge of specific high voltage substation protection and control scheme, medium and high voltage products and substation ancillary equipment.
- Experience with field testing and commissioning of medium and high voltage systems.
- Certification in high voltage safety practices.
Additional Notes:
- Familiar with TNB requirement will be added advantage
