Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Site Execution & Supervision: Lead and supervise daily site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical building services (LV distribution, power, lighting, switchboards, generators, and ELV systems).
- Technical Review & Shop Drawings: Review single-line diagrams (SLDs), technical submittals, and material specs. Oversee the preparation and submission of shop drawings and site coordination drawings.
- Progress & Quality Control: Track site progress against project schedules, ensure high standards of site workmanship, resolve site technical issues, and enforce quality control.
- Trade & Stakeholder Coordination: Represent Smitech in site meetings with Main Contractors, Consultants, Subcontractors, and internal mechanical/BIM teams to resolve cross-trade interface clashes.
- Authority Compliance & Handover: Ensure all electrical installations strictly comply with EMA regulations, SS638 (CP5), Singapore Codes of Practice, BCA regulations, and WSH safety guidelines. Support LEW testing and handover.
- Procurement & Commercial Support: Assist Quantity Surveyors in verifying material take-offs, assessing subcontractor progress claims, and evaluating variation orders (VOs).
Requirements
- Education: Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Working Experience:
Minimum 6 to 8 years of hands-on site experience in M&E construction or building services projects in Singapore.
Proven track record in supervising site installations, coordinating sub-contractors, and managing trade interfaces.
- Technical Competencies:
Solid working knowledge of Singapore Electrical Codes (SS638 / CP5, SS555, SS531) and EMA regulations.
Proficient in reading Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and shop drawings.
Proficient in AutoCAD basic familiarity with Revit MEP or BIM coordination is an advantage.
- Certifications (Advantage): Registered EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) Technician/Grade 7 or 8, or bizSAFE / WSH certifications will be a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong site leadership, analytical troubleshooting, independent problem-solving, and clear communication skills.
