Job Role: End User Technology Engineer

The End User Technology Engineer is responsible for delivering, supporting, and optimizing end-user computing environments across MetLife. This includes desktops, laptops, mobile devices, collaboration platforms (with a strong focus on Microsoft 365/O365), meeting room technologies, and monitoring solutions. The role ensures employees have reliable, secure, and productive technology experiences, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Modern Device, Endpoint & Mobility Management:

  • Configure, deploy, and support end-user devices (desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones) using modern management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM, JAMF, EMM).
  • Manage mobile device enrollment, security policies, and application deployment.
  • Oversee device onboarding, imaging, asset tracking, and lifecycle management.

Software Delivery, Testing & Deployment:

  • Package, test, and deploy software applications and updates using automated delivery platforms.
  • Coordinate pilot testing, user acceptance, and phased rollouts to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Monitor software deployment success, troubleshoot failures, and document solutions for continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Productivity Technologies (O365):

  • Support, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365/O365 services (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Exchange Online, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with O365 applications and integrations across devices.
  • Enable secure access and seamless user experiences for collaboration and productivity tools.

Meeting Room & Audio/Visual Technologies:

  • Set up, maintain, and support meeting room technologies (AV equipment, conferencing systems, smart boards).
  • Proactively test and monitor readiness of meeting spaces and provide timely support during events.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for upgrades and incident resolution.

Monitoring & Incident Response:

  • Monitor endpoint health, system performance, and user experience using enterprise tools.
  • Respond to incidents, diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, O365, and mobility issues.
  • Document solutions and contribute to knowledge bases for continuous improvement.

Technical Leadership & Team Collaboration:

  • (Senior Level) Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and lead small project teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions and drive process improvements.
  • Participate in technology evaluations, pilots, and rollouts of new end-user, O365, and mobility solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience:

  • Engineer: 25 years relevant experience.
  • Senior: 5+ years with demonstrated technical and/or team leadership.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and mobile OS; modern endpoint and mobility management tools (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, EMM).
  • Strong experience in automation, software packaging, automated deployment, and testing methodologies.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft 365/O365 administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with collaboration platforms, AV/meeting room technologies, and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills.
  • (Senior Level) Ability to lead, mentor, and manage technical teams.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Microsoft 365/O365, Apple, or AV/Collaboration/Mobility platform certifications are a plus.
  • ITIL v4

Language:

  • Business proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in Japanese will be an added bonus
