Engineer Mechanical

Role Overview

Support the design, engineering, and execution of mechanical systems for Design & Build projects across high-tech industries, including semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, life sciences, and advanced technology facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing mechanical engineering solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, supporting procurement and construction teams, and ensuring projects are delivered according to schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Engineering

• Prepare and review mechanical engineering designs from conceptual, schematic, detailed design through construction phases.
• Design and specify mechanical systems including:
• HVAC systems
• Chilled water systems
• Industrial ventilation and exhaust systems
• Process cooling water systems
• Compressed air systems
• Vacuum systems
• Utility piping systems
• Cleanroom environmental control systems
• Develop engineering calculations, equipment sizing, specifications, datasheets, schedules, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with project requirements, local regulations, international codes, and Exyte engineering standards.
• Perform design optimization and value engineering to improve efficiency, performance, and constructability.
  

Design & Build Project Delivery

• Participate in all project phases including proposal support, design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Electrical, Process, Architecture, and BIM teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage design changes and resolve technical issues during project implementation.
• Support project planning and engineering deliverable schedules.
  
  

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Prepare technical requisitions for mechanical equipment and systems.
• Evaluate vendor technical proposals and participate in bid clarification meetings.
• Review supplier drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  
  

Construction & Site Support

• Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Review RFIs, shop drawings, method statements, and construction documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and verify installation quality and compliance with design requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of construction-related engineering issues.
• Ensure systems are commissioned and handed over successfully to clients.
  
  

Stakeholder Management

• Interface with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and project coordination meetings.
• Present engineering solutions and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  
  

Education And Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Master's Degree is advantageous.
  
  

Experience

Mechanical Engineer

• Minimum 3-7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in Design & Build, EPC, EPCM, or industrial construction projects.
  
  

Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale Design & Build projects.
