Rapidz is building crypto-native payments, cards, and financial infrastructure across multiple markets. As we scale, we're looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead who can ship code, coach engineers, and put strong engineering standards and processes in place.
This is a true player-coach role. You'll work across backend and mobile teams, helping engineers move fast while keeping quality, reliability, and consistency high.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and contributing hands-on to backend development using Node.js / NestJS
- Providing technical leadership across backend and React Native mobile apps
- Setting and enforcing engineering standards (code quality, reviews, testing, documentation)
- Coaching engineers through pairing, reviews, and architectural guidance
- Driving process improvements across planning, delivery, and release cycles
- Working closely with Product to turn requirements into clear technical execution plans
- Improving system reliability, scalability, and operational maturity
- Owning production readiness, incident response, and post-mortems (with a learning mindset)
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience
- Proven experience as a hands-on lead or senior engineer with leadership responsibilities
- Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS preferred) in production
- Solid understanding of React Native (architecture, performance considerations, release workflows)
- Good grasp of system design, APIs, and database-backed services
- Experience working in AWS environments
- Process-oriented mindset with a bias toward pragmatic execution
- Comfortable coaching engineers and driving standards without micromanagement
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, or crypto
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile release workflows
- Experience scaling engineering practices in growing teams
- Exposure to compliance-aware environments (KYC, AML, audits)
