Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset care strategies to improve overall equipment performance and reliability.
  • Lead engineering teams for installation and maintenance of facilities, utilities, and process equipment.
  • Optimize maintenance costs while enhancing asset availability using advanced techniques (RCM, risk-based approaches, Lean/Six Sigma).
  • Maintain technical expertise for key equipment and utilities (e.g., formulation equipment, boiler, air compressor, chiller, purified water plant, HVAC).
  • Provide guidance on design and procurement of process equipment and utilities for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging.
  • Prepare and manage operating and capital expenditure budgets effectively.
  • Coach, develop, and motivate team members to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Manage third-party vendors, ensuring compliance and performance standards.
  • Drive productivity improvements and upskill staff for new technologies.
  • Lead audits by regulatory agencies (e.g., NPRA, CQA) and ensure adherence to cGMP standards.
  • Implement and maintain Quality Systems within the maintenance function.
  • Act as custodian of safety and compliance for engineering activities on site.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an Engineering Maintenance Manager in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device industries.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, utilities, and cGMP requirements.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Skilled in developing maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis, risk-based maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Capable of managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets and executing engineering projects effectively.
  • Deep understanding of NPRA, CQA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and manage external vendors.
  • Ability to interpret data and drive decisions based on performance metrics.
  • Comfortable with new technologies and digital tools for maintenance optimization.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and data analysis tools
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities
