Job Summary:
Engineering Project Manager will lead a selection of our organization's engineering development projects that include advanced component technology, new product development and existing product improvement initiatives. He/she will be responsible for the supervision of design and development activities that include identification of requirements, development of technical specifications, assembly of prototype systems and transfer to production.
Key Responsibilities
:
1. Project Planning and Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, product cost targets and scope.
- Coordinate resources, define work packages, manage budgets, track project risks and issues
- Execute each step of the project, from inception to delivery.
- Monitor and control project scope, the changes according to the process and identify the impact on the project timescale, budget, and quality.
2. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
- Define project responsibilities and allocate resources effectively.
- Foster a work culture that supports individual differences and maximizes team performance.
3. Risk Mitigation and Quality Assurance
- Identify, analyze, and proactively respond to project, financial, and operational risks
- Implement continuous improvement programs and best practices.
- Ensure quality goals are met throughout project execution.
4. Supplier and Vendor Relationships and Contract Negotiations
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and vendor selection processes.
- Handle maintenance, support, and renewal solutions.
Requirements
:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, software or systems engineering, for instance)
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management
- Project Management Certification(s): CAPM, PMI-PMP, MPM, PPM, PRINCE 2
- Demonstrated track record of leading technology-oriented projects that meet cost, schedule, and performance goals
- Demonstrated ability to lead project team solving complex design and engineering problems
- Thorough understanding of gated product development life cycles
- Experience with leading a multi-disciplined technical project engineering team
- Experienced in estimating, creating, and actively managing project and program budgets
- Demonstrated experience is managing multiple projects of varying complexity within the same time period.
- Familiarity with software, electrical, electronic and mechanical design
- Familiar with international agency testing standards (ETL, CE, UL, UKCA, CSA environmental etc.)
- Familiarity with Agile product management and similar tools to structure BOMs
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, OnePlan, Jira, Confluence.
