Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Are you passionate about transforming education, leveraging technology for social good, and building programmes from the ground up In this role, you'll lead the transformation of a proven English teaching methodology into a mobile learning experience that puts exam-ready English education into the hands of thousands of Malaysian students who cannot afford tuition or private classes. From curriculum design to app development to school partnerships, you'll own this project end to end, shaping a scalable impact tool that can change how underserved communities across Malaysia access quality education. Join us at SOLS Foundation to grow as a leader, an innovator, and a changemaker while building something whose results you'll see in real classrooms and real lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum Adaptation & Content Creation

  • Translate SOLS existing in-person English teaching methodology into a self-directed online learning experience within the SOLS edu ACE mobile app, preserving the pedagogical elements that make the methodology effective.
  • Structure the curriculum from beginner through advanced levels, aligned with end-of-highschool examination standards.
  • Author lesson content that is engaging, age-appropriate, and designed for independent learners without access to a live teacher.
  • Propose and refine scoring logic and assessment frameworks that accurately measure student progress and exam readiness.

Product Development & Quality Assurance

  • Own the end-to-end lesson lifecycle: creation, integration into the app with the tech team, user testing, iteration, and final sign-off.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to translate educational requirements into app features that are effective and exciting for students to use independently.
  • Identify UI/UX and content gaps through testing and learner feedback, and drive improvements accordingly.

Outreach, Partnerships & Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to attract students to the platform, specifically students from poor and underserved communities who cannot afford tuition or private English classes.
  • Reach out to schools, community organisations, and education stakeholders to form partnerships and drive adoption.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on promotion strategies, campaign messaging, and outreach materials in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Impact Monitoring & Programme Management

  • Define and track key performance indicators for student engagement, learning outcomes, and programme reach.
  • Monitor progress against targets, report on results, and use data to inform programme decisions.
  • Transition the project from its current development phase into full implementation, taking ownership of delivering tangible, measurable impact.

QUALIFICATIONS (what you need to have)

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Strong proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken
  • Background in curriculum design/development — formal studies and/or professional experience

  • Demonstrated experience with online education platforms, LMS, or ed-tech products

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (what you need to be able to do)

  • Translate educational strategy into operational execution — from lesson design to partnerships to impact measurement
  • Collaborate across tech, marketing, and education teams
  • Lead outreach, school engagement, and community partnerships
  • Work in a development-stage environment where the role evolves as the project scales

REQUIREMENTS (logistics)

  • Based in-person at SOLS edu head office
  • Able and willing to travel independently to B40 and Orang Asli communities across Malaysia, including rural areas

WHO YOU ARE (values & mindset)

  • Genuinely passionate about education, technology, and social impact since this role exists to serve youth who cannot afford tuition or private classes
