Role Purpose:
As the Enterprise Architect, you will define, guide, and govern the modernization of legacy platforms into a futurestate architecture that supports digital insurance experiences, regulatory readiness, and scalable product operations. Your leadership ensures alignment across teams, clarity in architectural direction, and consistent use of standards that support a unified enterprise ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and govern the enterprisewide modernization roadmap, including modularization, cloudreadiness, and serviceoriented design.
- Provide architectural direction to multiple delivery squads, ensuring alignment on API, data, cloud, integration, and security standards.
- Translate business vision into architectural roadmaps through capability modelling, valuestream alignment, and structured assessments.
- Design futurestate architectures covering policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and customer engagement journeys.
- Define transition states, coexistence approaches, and sequencing to support multiphase modernization programs.
- Lead architecture governance forums and produce clear architectural decisions, reference models, and modernization guidelines for delivery teams.
Skills Needed:
- Certified Enterprise Architect (TOGAF or equivalent) with practical architecture leadership experience.
- Deep understanding of General Insurance and Motor Insurance processes, systems, and industry context.
- Ability to design enterprisegrade architectures using cloudnative, APIled, and modular patterns.
- Experience working across crossfunctional squads, providing architecture oversight and ensuring alignment to enterprise standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture concepts in a simple, businessrelevant way.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Sparx EA).
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of Malaysian insurance regulatory requirements (BNM, ISM).
- Experience leading modernization involving both legacy and cloudnative platforms.
- Understanding of modern integration patterns, domaindriven design, or microservices architectures.
- Background in insurance system transformation initiatives.
