The Execution Engineer is required to ensure that all mechanical equipment are well maintained in order to prolong the life-expectancy of the machineries and increase reliability. The incumbent is also required to improve and increase production at an optimum cost in order to achieve the production budget.
Specific accountabilities and job functions will be but are not limited to:
- To ensure that all safety measures are adhered to all the time including when dealing with contractors in order to achieve zero LTI by following SOPs, Procedures, and Safety practices.
- To be transparent and show care towards the safety of others by reporting Near Misses in the workplace.
- Contribute to the improvement of plant efficiency through the development of studies and plans of action on equipment and mechanical installations, which aim in meeting targets set by the management.
- Maintain plant equipment and installations to operate within the prescribed limit set by law or any other requirements set by the Cementir Group.
- Attend and provide timely responses on the maintenance requests made by the Operations and Quality functions to keep the Plant Run Factor at the best possible level.
- Collaborate with the Procurement function to achieve higher rates of return on the procurement of spare parts and technical services.
- Plan and ensure the availability of critical spare mechanical parts in the store.
- Collaborate with other sub-functions in the Maintenance Department to establish and execute an effective preventive maintenance program.
- Explore and promote new ideas and technologies in maintenance.
- Promote plant safety awareness particularly on the safety of equipment and machineries.
- Manage a team of Fitters to carry out maintenance/repairing task systematically and within specification.
- Identify and implement training/activities to improve the competencies of Fitters.
- Manage and ensure that the services delivered by external contractors on mechanical tasks are in accordance to the work order.
- Drive activities under the Mechanical function to support Operational Excellence and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure maintenance records are properly maintained and updated in the SAP system and also through other means of filing prescribed by the superior.
- Take up any other roles assigned by the superior or management of the company whenever required.
- Implement and adhere to all Internal Control Rules and the Code of Business Conduct.
- Ensure the respect of environmental practices & policies in order to minimize the contamination of the environment.
- Provide problem solving and root cause analysis, component design, preparation of contract documents and scopes of work, planning, coordinating, and scheduling work required, supervision of contractors, ordering materials to ensure project efficiency and success.
- Provide guidance to the mechanical maintenance personnel in the repair, maintenance and installations including daily process problem-solving and measurement activities that enable continuous plant operations.
- Participate in the daily coordination meeting to review corrective work orders, inspection reports and incidents and assist in the planning of maintenance work.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by participating in the plant on call program. This includes evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents after hours and on weekends while on call and may require on-site supervision of the resolution to maintain operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the manufacturing field
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical equipment.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office and related software).
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
