Position Objective
The Executive, Portfolio Solutions plays a key role in supporting the management and growth of Fund-of-Funds (FoF) portfolios. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure across the full investment lifecycle, combining portfolio operations, investment research, risk analysis, fund due diligence, and asset allocation activities.
Working closely with the Portfolio Manager, the incumbent will contribute to portfolio implementation, performance monitoring, manager evaluation, and investment decision-making processes. The role is ideal for individuals seeking to build a strong foundation in fund management and develop a comprehensive understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, and global investment markets.
Job Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Operations & Trade Execution
- Execute Fund-of-Funds (FoF) and ETF transactions across Bloomberg, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient trade settlement.
- Support the Portfolio Manager in the day-to-day management and monitoring of FoF portfolios, ensuring compliance with investment mandates, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes and enhance efficiency through automation and system-driven solutions.
- Prepare, validate, and consolidate monthly portfolio and investment reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency across reporting platforms.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to resolve trade and operational issues promptly.
2. Fund Materials, Presentations & Reporting
- Maintain and enhance fund presentation materials, ensuring information remains current, accurate, and aligned with portfolio positioning and market developments.
- Prepare monthly fund commentaries, investment updates, client presentations, and marketing collateral to support distribution and client engagement activities.
- Draft market and macroeconomic outlook reports by synthesising insights from internal research and external investment partners.
- Ensure all fund-related communications accurately reflect investment objectives, performance, fees, and key value propositions.
3. Risk Analytics & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor and analyse portfolio risk and performance metrics, including Sharpe Ratio, Sortino Ratio, Standard Deviation, Maximum Drawdown, Beta, and Tracking Error.
- Support portfolio reviews through risk-return analysis of existing holdings and potential investment opportunities.
- Conduct look-through analysis to assess underlying fund exposures, sector and geographical concentrations, and style consistency.
- Assist in portfolio rebalancing activities by providing data-driven insights and performance evaluations.
- Develop a strong understanding of portfolio risk management and its application to investment decision-making.
4. Fund Research & Due Diligence
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on internal and external funds, including performance assessment, peer comparisons, volatility analysis, and style evaluation.
- Support Investment Due Diligence (IDD) activities, including coordinating meetings with fund managers, maintaining due diligence documentation, and monitoring ongoing manager developments.
- Participate in manager assessments and investment reviews to evaluate strategy suitability, operational robustness, and risk-adjusted performance.
- Maintain a database of fund research, investment recommendations, and due diligence findings.
5. Asset Allocation & Market Research
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) strategies.
- Gather, analyse, and synthesise macroeconomic and market research from global investment partners, fund managers, and research providers.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and changes within the global fund landscape.
- Contribute research-driven insights and recommendations to internal investment discussions and portfolio review meetings.
- Stay informed on emerging investment themes, asset classes, and market opportunities to support portfolio growth initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Investment Management, or a related discipline.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic credentials, analytical aptitude, and a genuine interest in investment management are encouraged to apply.
Professional Qualifications
- Candidates pursuing or intending to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation are preferred.
- Additional professional qualifications such as CAIA, FRM, or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of financial markets, investment products, and portfolio management concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg and other investment platforms is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
