Role Overview
The Network & Cybersecurity Executive will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization's network infrastructure.
The role involves hands-on technical work, third-level support, cybersecurity incident response, and collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Support
- Arrange and execute scheduled network upgrades and firmware updates.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve network faults and performance issues.
- Provide Level 3 helpdesk support for network and related infrastructure services.
- Monitor network performance and availability, ensuring optimal uptime.
- Report network status, incidents, and risks to key stakeholders.
Network Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and support wired and wireless networks.
- Manage and support network equipment including:
- Routers, switches, firewalls.
- Proxy servers, WAN accelerators.
- DNS and DHCP services.
- Configure routing, switching, and firewall rules to maximize network efficiency and security
- Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved in network installation and maintenance.
Network Design & Optimization
- Design and implement new network solutions.
- Enhance and optimize existing network architecture for performance and scalability.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
Cybersecurity & Incident Response
- Support and execute the Cybersecurity Incident Response (IR) plan.
- Align security architecture, controls, processes, policies, and procedures with recognized security standards and operational goals.
- Design, develop, and test security architectures, including cloud-based systems.
- Support cybersecurity risk mitigation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Post-Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Administrator / Cybersecurity Administrator
- Hands-on experience in enterprise network and security environments.
Skills & Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of network design, routing, switching, and firewall configuration
- Experience with Cybersecurity Incident Response and security operations.
- Familiarity with:
- Microsoft O365
- Linux
- SharePoint
- HP-UX (advantage)
- Professional certifications such as Networking certification / Microsoft MCSE / Cybersecurity certification are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
