Job Description

SCOPE / PURPOSE OF JOB / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Helpdesk Support:

  • Attend to ticketing helpdesk requests and respond to user inquiries related to facilities and infrastructure.

Procurement & Requisition:

  • Handle procurement and requisition processes for preventive maintenance, laboratory equipment, centralized services, and facilities-related purchases.

Vendor Engagement:

  • Coordinate with vendors to schedule and oversee preventive maintenance of facilities and laboratory equipment.

Routine Maintenance:

  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance of utilities and equipment such as ACMV systems, laboratory gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen tanks, water purification systems, centrifuges, autoclaves, etc.

Operational Coordination:

  • Manage and coordinate waste management, contractor activities, housekeeping services, and warehouse operations.

Event Preparation:

  • Facilitate preparations for lab visits, group meetings, and other infrastructure-related tasks.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Maintain facilities and laboratories to ensure compliance with safety standards and good laboratory practices.

Renovation Support:

  • Participate in renovation and infrastructure improvement projects.

Infrastructure Well-being:

  • Assist the Facilities Unit in ensuring the overall well-being and operational readiness of the companys infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in facilities coordination, preferably in a laboratory

or research setting.

3. Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, biosafety cabinets, liquid nitrogen

tanks, pH meters, pipettes, and freezers.

4. Basic understanding of building operation and maintenance systems including HVAC, water

purification, and compressed gases.

5. Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and good laboratory practices.

6. Experience with ordering supplies, managing inventory, and coordinating with vendors.

7. Experience in supporting or coordinating renovation projects, including liaising with

contractors and reviewing layouts.

8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

9. Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.

10. Safety or facility management certifications (e.g., CIDB, OSHA) are an advantage
