About the role

The Plant Facilities & EHS Engineer supports the safe, reliable and well-maintained condition of our plant and facilities. • Identify damaged or unsafe facilities and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and contractors.
  • Coordinate minor repair and improvement works, and follow up independently until completion.
  • Maintain the facility defect register and track actions until closure.
  • Ensure emergency access routes, walkways and work areas remain unobstructed.
  • Conduct routine EHS inspections and workplace observations to identify unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Support the implementation of Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures and Permit-to-Work requirements.
  • Monitor PPE compliance and safe working behaviour on site.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare inspection reports and EHS records for site management.

About you

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industrial plant, manufacturing, utilities, or water/wastewater environment.
  • Good understanding of plant maintenance and facility management.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety and environmental requirements (OSHA 1994, USECHH and DOE regulations).
  • Relevant EHS certification (e.g. CIOSH, USECHH Assessor) is an advantage.
  • Hands-on and comfortable spending significant time in the plant.
  • Able to identify deficiencies and independently follow up corrective actions.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a can-do attitude, with the ability to engage contractors and operations personnel.
