Job Description

Position Summary

The Facilities Shift Technician performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of building systems and equipment during assigned shifts. This role responds to work orders, conducts routine inspections, and ensures the facility operates safely and efficiently. The technician works under the direction of the Facilities Shift Lead or Facilities Manager to maintain optimal building conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out 2 rotating shift works, record and maintain all the facility equipment's and electrical installation performance data.
  • Timely update the power consumption reports.
  • Maintain sub-station of 33kV and LV. Carry out maintenance and repair work in electrical installation related to electrical work only (for competent person).
  • Repair and trouble shoot electrical, mechanical, problem to production lines.
  • Timely update the power consumption reports and cost saving project package.
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards such as SS and TPM.
  • Ensure that all contractors, Vendors on site aware of and adhere to all Company Safety Procedures and that they signify by signing the proper documentation.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors for timely setup of manufacturing utilities.
  • Responsible for full and proper documentation of each and every product and project assigned to you and their up to date recording. This includes all emails and electronic communications.
  • Provide daily reports on all areas of your job functions (in electronic communications or through communication book) included any un-normal issue.
  • Make sure that completed works meet specifications and safety standards Investigating electrical system or equipment failures and recommend actions to enhance reliability.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent required. Technical certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or facilities maintenance preferred. Minimum 2-3 years hands-on facilities maintenance experience in commercial buildings.

Technical Knowledge Basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation controls. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively. Familiarity with CMMS software and basic computer applications.

Skills and Abilities Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Good organizational and time management capabilities. Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance and punctuality.
