We are seeking a reliable, competent and experience Field Technician to support and execute on-site installation works for projects in the oil & gas, petrochemical and manufacturing industries, under the guidance of the Project Engineer / Manager.
The Field Technician will play an active role in coordinating day-to-day site activities, supervising the installation works, and ensuring it being carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
The candidate must be willing to be stationed at project sites on short notice, working off-shore and comfortable working independently when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute, supervise and guide subcontractor for on-site installation works in accordance with approved drawings, procedures and work instructions.
- Coordinate daily site activities with vendors, subcontractors and client representatives for assigned work scopes and routine activities such as permits and toolbox.
- Managing site manpower, tools, equipment and material usage for assigned tasks.
- Ensure works are carried out in compliance with project QA/QC and HSE requirements.
- Monitor work progress and report status,
- Maintain site documentation including daily progress updates, inspection reports, QC checklists etc as required by the project.
- Escalate site issues that may impact schedule, quality or safety to Project Engineer / Manager and appropriate site authority.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or relevant trade from recognized institutions such as ILP, IKM, Politeknik, Kolej Vokasional, or equivalent.
- Minimum 35 years of site experience in construction, installation or project execution, preferably in oil & gas or petrochemical environments.
- Experience in industrial insulation works will be an added advantage.
- Good hands-on site experience with basic ability to read drawings and follow work procedures.
- Competent to use Microsoft Office for reporting and record keeping.
- Willing to travel and be stationed at project sites for short-term assignments.
