Get to Know the Team

You will be part of the Finance Global Process Owner (GPO) team within the Finance Centre of Excellence (Finance COE) — Grab's Finance transformation engine. The COE works across every Finance sub-department to build a more efficient, standardized, and future-ready Finance operation. The GPO team owns process standards for RTR, PTP, and OTC. We work with SSC teams in Jakarta and Selangor, Country Finance Leads across six markets, GTS, and the CFO office.

Get to Know the Role

We're looking for a Finance Analyst, Global Process Owner to join our finance team. You will report to the Senior Manager, RTR Global Process Owner and be base at our Malaysia office in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The work is tangible — fewer manual journals, cleaner reconciliations, better close cycles, and transitions that don't arrive broken.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Record-to-Report (RTR) Process Ownership & Optimization

  • Own all open RTR initiatives end-to-end, driving reconciliation optimization, payment gateway automation, manual journal reduction, and country harmonization through rigorous data analysis, comprehensive documentation, and proactive delivery tracking to ensure process efficiency and compliance across the organization
  • Prepare and maintain country process documentation including process maps, volume data, exception registers, and divergence trackers to support harmonization assessments and provide a single source of truth for RTR operations
  • Monitor process dashboards and flag exceptions to Finance leadership before they escalate into critical issues, ensuring early intervention and onwards process health
  • Coordinate with GTS and SSC on automation implementation, overseeing UAT cycle tracking, documenting issues, and maintaining the automation register to accelerate delivery and reduce manual effort
  • Own the RTR SOP library, updating documentation as improvements are implemented and ensuring all materials remain current to support consistent execution across teams
  • Report efficiency improvements over time, monitoring manual journal rates, reconciliation cycle performance, and close day metrics to demonstrate value and identify further optimisation opportunities

Post-Merger Integration (PMI) Finance Harmonization & Coordination

  • Manage Finance PMI process coordination on integration deliverables, with scope agreed at hire and focus on acquired entities, ensuring seamless integration aligned with group standards
  • Prepare process documentation for acquired entity finance processes, developing process maps and supporting materials to align with group standards and establish baseline for harmonization
  • Manage integration milestone tracking and flag delays to the PMI lead, escalating risks and communicating status updates to business partners to maintain momentum and transparency
  • Prepare finance system cooperation reporting inputs to support process status updates and business partners communications, quantifying integration benefits and progress
  • Connect PMI integration requirements to RTR process standards, ensuring acquisitions are harmonized correctly from day one and embedded into ongoing process ownership

Finance Centre Of Excellence & Strategic Plans

  • Support Finance COE cross-functional workstreams, providing analysis, documentation, and coordination as priorities evolve to strengthen finance capability across the organization
  • Help prepare materials for Finance leadership forums, supporting steering committees and business partners briefings to communicate progress and strategic direction
  • Flex into new GPO workstreams as the team's mandate expands, adapting to organisational growth and latest priorities whilst maintaining ownership of core RTR responsibilities

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Technical & Domain Experience

  • Solid RTR foundation: GL, reconciliation, journal entries, financial close, and intercompany
  • Good data and analyst skills; comfortable with large datasets, Excel, and process metrics
  • Capable to document processes well: process maps, SOPs, issue registers, and trackers
  • Experience with ERP systems or reconciliation tools
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capability using structured methodologies; Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or above) or equivalent process improvement experience is highly valued
  • Familiarity with AI enablement and automation technologies; experience implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance process efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • 3+ years of Finance experience in RTR, financial close, or Finance operations
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance; CA, CPA, or ACCA in progress or completed
  • Experience in an SSC, Finance GPO, COE, or Finance operations environment; exposure to M&A integration is preferred

  • Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
