Finance Director, APAC

The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks. They will oversee the financial operations of the business and provide frequent financial reports. They will also assure strict adherence to financial regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance function across the Asia region, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS, company policies, and local statutory requirements.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including regional reporting and support for global financial consolidation.
• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across APAC.
• Partner with regional and country leadership to provide financial analysis, commercial insights, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
• Monitor financial performance by analysing profitability, budgets, forecasts, and key financial indicators.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, optimize costs, manage financial risks, and enhance operational performance.
• Oversee accounting, payroll, billing, collections, cash flow management, and shared finance operations to ensure effective financial controls and operational excellence.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the regional Finance team while fostering collaboration, accountability, and consistent execution across APAC.
• Provide guidance to country finance teams and shared service stakeholders to strengthen finance capabilities and service delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement through finance process standardisation, ERP optimisation, automation, and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Lead statutory reporting, external audits, and ensure finance records, documentation, and accounting practices remain audit-ready and compliant with internal and external requirements.
• Support regional and global strategic initiatives, including financial modelling, shared services optimisation, IPO readiness activities, banking relationships, and other projects assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with at least 5 years of finance leadership experience.
• Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably as Finance Director, Regional Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience supporting IPO readiness, group consolidation, or public-company reporting requirements.
• Experience working in a matrix organization with global and regional stakeholders.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, including fraud preventative and detective controls, audit requirements, statutory reporting, and finance governance.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or indirectly managing regional or multi-country finance teams.
• Strong leadership capability, including the ability to guide teams, improve processes, and influence stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert financial data into practical business recommendations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and financial discipline.
