What you'll do:

As Finance Director in Selangor, you will play a central role in guiding the organisation's financial direction while ensuring operational excellence across all finance functions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with executive leaders on strategic initiatives such as capital allocation or investment planning; overseeing comprehensive budgeting processes; monitoring performance metrics; ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements; managing audit processes; driving digital transformation within finance operations; providing commercial insight into pricing or costing decisions; partnering with operational teams for improved efficiency; mentoring finance professionals; coordinating with group-level stakeholders; and representing the entity externally with banks or authorities. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork across departments while upholding high standards of integrity.

  • Set and steer mid- to long-term financial strategies aligned with global and regional priorities to drive sustainable profitability, capital efficiency, and business agility.
  • Advise the Managing Director and senior leadership on strategic planning, capital deployment, investments, and scenario modelling to support organisational growth.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Monitor key financial KPIs, analyse trends, and provide actionable insights that enhance overall business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (MFRS), tax regulations, and group financial policies while maintaining robust internal controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee statutory audits, tax matters, and relationships with external auditors, advisors, and regulatory authorities to safeguard organisational interests.
  • Govern Shared Services delivery including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, treasury functions, tax compliance, and statutory reporting by defining policies and quality standards.
  • Drive digitisation of finance operations through SAP automation and analytics to accelerate closing cycles, improve transparency, optimise working capital management, liquidity, and foreign exchange exposure.
  • Provide financial leadership in pricing strategies, costing methodologies, transfer pricing computations according to group requirements, as well as profitability analysis across customers and channels.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to enhance cost competitiveness, operational efficiency, and margin improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field coupled with a recognised professional qualification (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is essential for this role.
  • At least 10 years experience in a senior management capacity within multinational companies or large local conglomerates-preferably in manufacturing/industrial or building materials sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary finance teams effectively while nurturing talent through mentorship and capability development initiatives.
  • Proven track record of successful business partnering with Commercial Operations or Supply Chain functions to deliver measurable improvements in performance.
  • Extensive experience managing stakeholder relationships at Board/Group/Regional level as well as with banks or tax authorities is highly valued.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end financial reporting processes including group consolidation management reporting analysis is necessary for success.
  • Expertise in FP&A activities such as budgeting forecasting performance management along with cost/plant controlling (standard costing variance analysis inventory control COGS) is expected.
  • Solid understanding of tax matters including transfer pricing documentation audit defence coordination of corporate income tax withholding indirect taxes (MY SST SG GST) is important.
  • Hands-on experience in treasury management working capital optimisation ERP/reporting systems (especially SAP) process improvement automation will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with internal controls compliance frameworks (SOX/ICFR) external audit management capital allocation capex appraisal rounds out your profile.
