Finance Executive Lead
- The Finance Executive Lead will be a senior member of the Lockton Sime Finance leadership team, supporting the effective financial management, control environment and operational development of the business.
- This role will focus on building a high-performing, scalable and well-controlled finance function, ensuring robust internal controls, high-quality business processes, effective audit management and timely regulatory reporting.
- This role will work closely with ExCo, business leaders and regional stakeholders to improve finance operations, support system transformation and ensure the business meets its financial, regulatory and governance obligations.
- This is a critical role fundamental to strengthening finance capability in Malaysia, and enabling the business to operate efficiently, transparently and in line with internal and external requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Management and Leadership -
- Partner with the CEO to drive the financial and operational success of the business.
- Oversee the production of accurate, timely and relevant financial information, and ensure appropriate review, control and escalation of significant financial matters as required.
- Drive business process improvement across finance operations, maintaining a hands-on approach to strengthen ways of working.
- Provide strategic leadership and management of the Finance team.
Financial Accounting and Control -
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, appropriate review and effective coordination with regional and group reporting requirements.
- Design, maintain and continuously improve internal controls to ensure financial transactions, policies and procedures are robust, consistently applied and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review key P&L and balance sheet movements, ensuring appropriate analysis, explanation and follow-up of significant variances or control matters.
- Manage internal and external audit processes, and ensure timely remediation of audit findings
- Identify, monitor and manage finance-related risks, ensuring issues are appropriately escalated and control improvements are embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Establish and monitor effective use of operational cash ensuring compliance with group policy.
Financial Reporting and Regulatory Reporting –
- Be involved in preparation of board, management and governance materials, ensuring finance inputs are accurate, clear and appropriately reviewed.
- Coordinate annual financial statements, statutory audit deliverables and related filings with external auditors and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate, complete and timely regulatory reporting submissions, supported by appropriate review and evidence.
- Collaborate with business, IT and regional teams to implement effective process improvement solutions.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Investment Appraisal –
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities through financial analysis, performance reviews, variance assessment and business case evaluation to inform commercial decision-making.
The successful candidate will have..
- A minimum of 10 years experience in finance roles in Financial Services, Insurance or Insurance Broking
- A qualified accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent
- An energetic, hands-on finance leader with strong commercial acumen, analytical problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, build high-performing teams through accountability and collaboration, and demonstrated organizational skills,
- Strong understanding of the Malaysian regulatory environment is essential, with the ability to support compliant, commercially sound, and strategic business decisions.
- A naturally collaborative approach and proven capability in working effectively with internal and external business stakeholders
