Job Description:

This is currently an individual contributor role as our Malaysia operations are at an early stage, with opportunities to shape future team structures as the business grows. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to lead the full spectrum of financial operations across our Malaysia entities. This role reports directly to our headquarter in Singapore and the Head of Corporate Services of Equalenergie Malaysia and plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic support for business growth. The successful candidate may also be required to provide finance support to other group or portfolio companies operating in Malaysia, as directed by the Singapore headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end financial management for multiple local entities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and objectives.
  • Manage daily finance operations, including accurate and timely financial reporting, cash flow management, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, business case budgets, and performance dashboards, support presentations to senior leadership.
  • Drive and manage the annual audit process, resolve audit issues, ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), and ensure timely audit completion.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including ERP system migration and optimization of financial processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance on local tax matters, leveraging deep knowledge of Malaysia's tax regulations and frameworks to ensure compliance and proactively address potential tax issues
  • Participate in project-based assignments such as financial modelling, financing coordination, covenant compliance, and M&A integration (both pre- and post-deal).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to provide financial insights, resolve business finance challenges, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies, providing proactive guidance on their impact to the business.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in comprehensive financial management and regional or consolidated reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with financial ERP systems.
  • Strong business partnering capabilities with proven experience collaborating across regions, including close engagement with HQ and regional stakeholders.
  • Experience in capital-intensive or project-based industries, with an understanding of project financing and the infrastructure landscape would be an advantage.
  • Fluency in English, Mandarin and Malay preferred
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; hands-on and adaptable team player.
