Full Time | Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur
RM8,500 to RM10,000 per month
This is a newly created role within the organization. The Finance Manager will initially operate in a hands-on capacity, managing daily finance operations independently while establishing proper finance structures, controls, and reporting processes. Over time, the role will evolve to lead the development of a formal finance team and transition into a more strategic finance leadership position.
Key Responsibility
1) Hands-On Finance Operations (Initial Phase)
-Manage full set of accounts independently (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
-Handle daily finance operations including:
-Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing
-Maintain proper accounting records and documentation
2) Finance Structure & Process Setup
-Establish proper finance workflows, SOPs, and internal controls
-Design and standardize:
-Chart of accounts
-Monthly reporting formats
-Budget and forecast templates
-Improve accuracy and discipline in financial data management
3) Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Monitoring
-Lead preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
-Monitor actual performance against budget and analyze variances
-Track GP margins, operating costs, and profitability by brand and channel
-Provide management with clear financial insights and recommendations
4) Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
-Manage daily and medium-term cash flow planning
-Monitor and optimize:
-Inventory funding and turnover
-Support banking matters and cash planning
5) Inventory, Logistics & Systems Integration
-Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation across:
-Third-party WMS systems
-Work closely with Operations to ensure:
6) E-commerce & Marketplace Finance
-Oversee financial reconciliation for:
-Review platform fees, commissions, subsidies, vouchers, refunds, and chargebacks
-Support pricing and promotion profitability analysis
7) Compliance, Tax & External Parties
-Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements
-Manage:
-Withholding tax (if applicable)
-Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretary
8) Team Building & Leadership (Future Phase)
-Plan and build the finance team as the business scales
-Recruit, train, and supervise finance team members
-Delegate operational tasks over time while maintaining oversight
- Develop team capabilities and finance best practices
9) Management & Strategic Support
-Act as a finance business partner to Management
-Support financial evaluation for:
-Provide financial input for strategic decision-making
Job Requirements
-Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
-Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) are an advantage
-Minimum 6–10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience
-Proven experience in:
-Experience in SME, distribution, e-commerce, or retail environments preferred
-Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
-Excellent cash flow and working capital management ability
-Experience integrating accounting with operational systems
-Strong Excel and data analysis skills
-Leadership mindset with ability to build and mentor a team
-Highly hands-on, independent, and accountable
-Structured, disciplined, and detail-oriented
-Commercially minded and solution-focused
-Comfortable operating in a growing, fast-paced environment
-Office-based role at Bangsar South, KL
-Hands-on involvement required, especially during initial setup phase
