BRIEF
As the Finance Manager at the plant (manufacturing), you will be responsible for leading all aspects of financial and administrative operations. This includes overseeing budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, compliance, and general administration. Your role is crucial in supporting plant operations with strategic financial insights, ensuring accurate data, governance compliance, and optimal resource planning. This position reports directly to the Group Accountant / Head of Finance.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Financial Management and Reporting
- Lead and manage all financial functions at the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing, financial reporting, and statutory submissions in line with the finance calendar.
- Prepare plant-level financial statements in compliance with MFRS and internal corporate policies.
- Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is available and audit issues are addressed.
- Submit complete and accurate monthly financial reports to the Group Finance team.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and corporate governance policies.
- Stay abreast of updates in financial reporting standards and regulatory changes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing financial policies, SOPs, and internal control systems.
- Monitor credit control, inventory, and working capital management in line with corporate guidelines.
Business Advisory & Operational Support
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support the Plant Manager and management in strategic decision-making.
- Identify cost-saving initiatives and analyze operational efficiency using financial data.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions regarding capital expenditure, costing strategies, and performance metrics.
Administrative
- Lead and supervise the plant administrative team to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Monitor and manage administrative personnel to uphold high standards in staff welfare, housekeeping, and canteen hygiene.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA).
- Minimum of 6 years in a managerial role within finance/accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong background in financial compliance, corporate governance, and costing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting systems (e.g., AutoCount).
- In-depth understanding of financial regulations, internal controls, and technical accounting standards.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
- Capable of working independently while leading cross-functional administrative and finance teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative in handling day-to-day administrative issues.
