Job Description

Job Summary

Lead financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and manufacturing cost accounting, providing financial insights to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and business performance while ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and KPI analysis.
  • Provide management with financial insights, profitability analysis, and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Manage product costing, standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Analyze material, labour, and overhead costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.
  • Review BOMs and standard cost structures to ensure accurate product costing.
  • Support pricing, new product launches, capital investments, and business case evaluations through detailed cost and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, tax, statutory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and drive timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Identify financial risks and strengthen financial controls and governance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the local costing and budgeting team.
  • Partner with Production, Operations, Procurement, Sales, and other functions to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and cost management.
  • Comply with company EHS policies and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 8–10 years of finance and accounting experience, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing finance and cost accounting.
  • Solid knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; BI reporting experience is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Chinese language proficiency is an advantage.
