Job Description

Position Overview

The Finance Manager oversees the company's full spectrum of financial operations, including accounting, tax incentive compliance, accounts payable (AP), and capital expenditure (capex) management. The role ensures that financial reporting, controls, and processes comply with Malaysian statutory and group requirements, while supporting management in strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee daily financial operations, including AP, GL, and tax compliance.
  • Advise on and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS).
  • Review and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, statutory financial statements, and consolidation schedules.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
  • Provide assistance/support for Group finance and reporting matters
  • Tax & Audit Compliance
  • Manage compliance with Malaysian incentive schemes (e.g., MD status, DESAC, Pioneer, ITA).
  • Coordinate with tax advisors and auditors during statutory and internal audits.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tax filings and statutory reports.
  • Capex & Financial Planning
  • Evaluate capex proposals, conducting ROI, payback, and cash flow analyses.
  • Monitor actual spending vs. approved budgets and report variances.
  • Prepare and present capex and investment reports to management.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement
  • Maintain strong internal controls across finance processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Leadership
  • Supervise the finance team
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, audit, or finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS) essential, exposure to other SEA jurisdictions is an advantage.
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian tax system and tax incentives preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and Excel.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication abilities.
