Job Description

Morgan Mckinley is partnering with a global client to hire for a strategic Finance Manager to lead their finance and accounting operations. Reporting to regional leadership, you will oversee full sets of accounts, drive process improvements, manage tax compliance, and provide robust financial insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end financial closing process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash flow management, and fixed asset registers.
  • Ensure full compliance with Malaysian tax laws, including corporate tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing documentation, and Sales and Service Tax (SST) filings.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax agents, and local regulatory authorities.
  • Evaluate current financial workflows, internal controls, and ERP systems to identify bottlenecks and implement automation or efficiency gains.
  • Establish robust internal control policies to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads to monitor performance and control operational expenditures.
  • Provide insightful variance analysis and financial reporting to management to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage the local finance and accounting team to foster high performance and professional development

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • 6–8 years of combined external audit (Big 4/mid-tier preferred) and commercial finance experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Chemical, manufacturing, or distribution industry background is a strong plus.
  • Deep knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, MFRS, robust experience with full sets of accounting, and a strong understanding of audit and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and high attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
